Limerick Masters was set up in 1986 and in October 1987 became affiliated to the Limerick Swimming Club as a Masters section. Limerick Masters is now a seperate club but retains strong links with Limerick Swimming Club.

Limerick Masters train from September to June. Members range in age from 25 to 65+. Some swam competitively when they were younger; others took up swimming later in life.
